8 things

On my return from Spain I found that Karen at The Rubbish Diet had tagged me - so here I go.

8 things I am looking forward to:

Our holiday on the Isle of Wight, with daughter and grand-daughter
Visiting the Banksy exhibition in Bristol
Going on the big wheel in Weston Super Mare
Meeting up with a friend for lunch next week
Meeting up with a friend for coffee next week
Selling our house
Moving to our new home
Booking a flight to Australia and New Zealand to see family

8 things I did yesterday

Took Mother grocery shopping
Sorted through some old photos
Washing
Ironing
Spoke to daughter on telephone
Wrote to doctor on behalf of mother
Blogged
Went for an Indian meal with friends in evening

8 things I wish I could do

Play the piano
Ride a bike
Swim better
Drink a cup of tea (I really dislike the smell of it but envy anyone who enjoys it so much) - I know, weird!
See my grandchildren more often
Prevent cruelty to children and animals
Have a cookery lesson/session with Rosemary Schrager
Have dinner with George Clooney (anyone can dream!)

8 of my favourite fruit

Cheddar Strawberries
Oranges
Bananas
Grapes
Apples
Raspberries
Peaches
Tomatoes

8 places I would like to travel

I would like to see a lot more of this country
I would like to travel around Australia, it being my son's chosen country to live
I would like to travel around New Zealand, it being my step-daughter's chosen country to live
Canada
China
Iguacu Falls in Brazil
Italy
Barcelona

8 places I have lived

The house where I was born, which overlooked Chesil Beach in Dorset
The cottage where I lived from the age of 3 until I was 12, in Dorset
Osmington Village in Dorset from the age of 12 until I was 20
Wrington near Bristol
Northumberland
Somerset - I have lived in this seaside town since 1971 in 5 different houses.

That's the best I can do!

and finally - I should tag 8 people but I am going to leave this to the choice of any visitors to this post.

Lovely, especially the things you did yesterday. Isn't normality just the best. XXX

It's good to read things about you, which I didn't know. I love bananas and tomatoes and get quite upset if I ever run out of them. You've moved about a lot. I've only lived in 3 different houses. You have some great things to look forward to!

LWM - yes I do like "normal"!

Denise - Yes it is a bit of fun - are you going to play?

Maggie - I shall look forward to seeing your lists.

MM - We are all a little "curious" I think - in the nicest possible way, of course.

Thank Anne - always love to find out more about you. I know what it's like to live away from my family and I wish my own mum could be able to see our children more too.

I would love to see the Banksy exhibition. In fact we went to queue for it last weekend while we were on a quick visit to Bristol. But when we saw the length of the queue we had no choice but to miss it as we didn't have long enough to wait. We we were advised that it would take 3-4 hours to get in and we had to get off by lunchtime.

But if you've got plenty of time, some sandwiches, a good book and some very good friends with you - and an umbrella - it is really worth it. And I hope you will be able to take photos as I would love to see what's inside. Lots of love. K x

Mrs A - It is difficult sometimes not being able to see grandchildren, it's been nearly a year now since I saw those in Australia! Too long! We are planning to get to Bristol early, I will let you know how we get on.

Leia - thank you, pleased you liked the lists. You also have a wonderful weekend.

Joo - if I make dinner with Clooney I will definitely mention your name!

Sandi - thank you - pleased you liked the lists. My mum is 87 now.

JJ - welcome - very pleased to see you and glad you liked the lists. I did have to put my thinking cap on. I will be over to see you.

Thanks to all for lovely comments. A x

That was fun to read! I'm amused to see that you've lived all your life in the West Country or South of England except for a spell in Northumberland. That must have been a bit of a culture shock! LOL!

And what the heck are cheddar strawberries?

Strawberry Jam Anne said...

Jay - Cheddar (of cheese fame) is very close to where I live. Locally the strawberries grown there are reputed to have the very best flavour! Beautiful. It wasn't until you asked the question that I realised how it must have read to anyone not from this area. They are not at all cheesy! Ax

And I should have added where Cheddar Caves and Gorge are situated. A x

These little lists are a great way to get to know each other. I do like the things you wish you could do, especially the preventing cruelty to children and pets it's on my list as well.

Have a wonderful week,

You have lived in some marvellous places...

My husband loves Somerset, Dorset and when we were courting he took me to Chesil Beach. I love it.
