ABC Wednesday - B is for Butterflies

My theme for this week's ABC Wednesday is Butterflies.

Knowing my fondness for them my OH has been inspired on occasions to buy me a gift depicting butterflies.

This Bracelet was bought during our holiday in Hawaii in 2001. It's design is based on the Hawaiian Lei and you may be able to see that it is a circle of Butterflies.

Another time he gave me this marcasite Brooch

And, most surprisingly of all this Bag!

So delicate these beautiful, colourful creatures - I have always loved them.

Oh, I want the bag, I want the bag!! Aren't butterflies amazing. We 'grew' some last year... loved seeing the butterflies drying their painted wings before flying off!xx

Yes, they are beautiful and it is amazing they originate from the less attractive caterpillars.

The butterfly has been a a recurring theme - not that that's bad, but it's the first brooch I saw for certain. Nice.

What a sweet man your OH is. Loved the bag by the way.
My son watches a kids cartoon where they tell the story of the caterpillar, pupa and butterfly transition. In the USA they pronounce pupa "pooper", which always makes me laugh.

I've never been able to take a good butterfly photo, but we welcome clouds of Monarchs to our huge huge patch of mint in August. Who knew flowering mint was a butterfly plant?

What beautiful butterflies....love that last blue one! How wonderful to get all those butterfly gifts. Butterflies are like flowers flying around. So pretty! I bought a bunch of butterfly fabric squares once and made a butterfly quilt :-) I love it for its cheerfulness.

I never knew you loved butterflies and and what beautiful gifts from that sweet husband of yours. So thoughtful and loving. That Hawaiian Butterfly Lei was truly exquisite, as was the marcasite broach. Your handbag is the prettiest and I enjoyed the photos. Lovely post Anne, enjoyed it tremendously.

Lovely photos! I've been chasing butterflies around our garden all of the week, trying to get a decent photo. I've only got one decent one of a Painted Lady, so far. I can't get a Peacock. They're much more nervous. I love your embroidered bag. It's beautiful.
