Taking advantage of our recent holiday shots.
What can you see on the beach under the trees - an ursine shaped figure - yes! IT IS A BEAR! I was so thrilled even though it was at such a distance - um, well, you would want some distance between yourself and a bear anyway.
If you don't like that picture how about this one.
The undercarriage of the floatplane!
For more detail click on each photo and you really should see that IT IS a bear on the beach!!!

It's a good thing you can enlarge those photos. I would never have seen the ursine otherwise!
Fun post for the day, Anne! Great that you got a shot at ursine, too! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

Had to strain my eyes to see the bear...... but yes...... it is there on the beach!
Great to experience such different surroundings.

Alaska is one state hubby and I love to visit. Now I understand how to go places it's because of the plane. Love your shots. Thanks for sharing!

Oh yes, I found the bear! You saw such a variety of things on your holiday Anne.
Distance from a bear is a very good thing. I've been far too close more than once and each time by accident. Only luck kept us apart. :) Great shots!
I once saw a bear and her two cubs walking along the waters edge in Banff Ntl. Park in Canada. It was a thrill... and oh, so cute. Your photo reminded me of that day. Thanks.
I saw the bear once I enlarged the pic, fantastic capture!!
U is for unoccupied

Terrific post Anne - I don't have a favourite photo - both are superb!
Greetings:)
Wow - I would have been thrilled to see the bear, too!
I saw a cub, once, on a drive along the road from Vancouver to Whistler and it was lumbering across the road in front of the car. OH thought it might be a good idea to stop for a picture, but I just knew Momma Bear was somewhere close and that it would be a Very Bad Idea Indeed! LOL!
Yes, that is about as near as I'd want to get to a bear!
Mind you, it took me two goes to find it!! Luckily Maggie May pointed out it was on the beach!
wise u post!
Ursine? Have you been to the Phrontistery? :-) The only moving bears I've ever seen have been on TV! Very nice shots.
Lovely photos. I've left a tag on my blog for you.
great shots, I kept thinking that's in BC, and it turns out I was right!! I am not as daft as I look!!
I was thinking of you today,
