Hopefully up and running again!

Many of you know I have been having difficulties with my computer for some time now and comments on my last post advised me that Firefox was the way to go! A big thank you to all of you. I have now downloaded Firefox and - so far, so good!

I have really missed blogging and visiting blogworld friends so I'm hoping that in future I won't be having the trouble encountered recently. I know too that some of you have been having problems with my site. I honestly don't know if things will improve for you now - I do hope so.

Anyway - I have been taking some photos in the garden recently so here is a photographic update. Don't forget you can enlarge any photo by clicking on it.

There has been a lot of activity in and around this nest box and we are very hopeful of seeing some baby blue tits any time soon.

The beautiful goldfinches are still visiting although this picture is a few weeks old (the tree is still in bud in the photo)

Here a pair of young blackbirds are sharing some apple - I always feel sorry for the young birds when they first visit the garden as they stand around, seemingly wondering what to do next!

squirrel tries to get his balance

before getting into the birdhouse for breakfast

but sometimes just likes to sit in the basket

In the pond the tadpoles are doing well

and the kingcups put on a wonderful display

We have had some primula

some orange flowers (don't know what these are called) and in the winter lovely orange berries

and this flower is always lovely - I think it is called ajuga (bugle) - an excellent ground cover plant

these little roses have a delicate scent and are so pretty

For me seeing aquilegia in flower is a real sign of summer on its way

With a bank holiday looming again and an assurance from the weather man of some sunshine I am hoping to get some more work done in the garden this weekend. Next week I have two celebration cakes to ice and decorate so then any work outside will have to wait.

I love bugle, too! We're having our lawn relaid and I dug out as much as I could to save it for replanting later! It does tend to creep, but I dont' mind that at all!

No idea what the orange flower is, I'm afraid - but happy to hear your problems have been solved by Firefox!

Jay - I don't mind it creeping
because it is easily dug out. A x

Hi Anne,
I think the orange flower is Mahonia - is a a big bush with prickly leaves?

Loved the garden pictures by the way - makes me feel like bunking off work and going home to don gardening gloves :-)

Glad you're back and I hope that your computer problems are now sorted out. Love the photos. The squirrel looks very entertaining. It didn't rain here today and I finally managed to tidy up a bit in the garden!

I love these pictures. How exciting to be waiting for the bluetits to fledge.
We have also had goldfinches visit this year, which I think is rather unusual for my tiny city garden especially with all the building and alterations going on.
Lovely flowers and the squirrels through the glass.

My son (Wallace) introduced me to Firefox for the same reason, Ann and I've loved it ever since! Your photos are so wonderful...I've never thought about hanging our squirrels a basket, but I'm going to do so in the morning! Thanks for the idea
hugs

Pam - pleased you like the garden photos. Don't think my orange shrub is mahonia though - I will look it up. A x

Denise - I'm very pleased to be back and able to blog once more without having to keep on shutting down my computer. So frustrating! A x

Mary - pleased you liked my pictures also. A x

Mean Mom - good weather here too and set fair for the weekend. A x

Maggie - I have been keeping a close eye on things around the nest box. It is about 12 feet up in the tree so well out of the way.
Lots of branches for fledglings to perch on! A x

Very interesting garden complete with birds and squirrel and some beautiful flowers. I also love the extra: tadpoles and frogs.

Anne - so pleased you are back! And how lovely to live where you can see a sunset like that! Our sun just disappears down behind the houses and that is that. (Though I could drive up into the hills, I suppose.....)

Lovely photos of your garden. We've got bugle too, but it gets trodden on by our dog. So far its a draw - Dog 1 - Bugle 1. And how do you get your aquilegias to face upwards? they are aquilegias, aren't they? Mine, which are the mauve/white ones, hang their heads down and its so difficult to photo them.
