SkyWatch Friday

On Monday OH and I drove to Bristol intending to see the Banksy Exhibition at the Bristol Museum, which opened at 10 am. We found a parking space and as we approached the Museum a clock was striking 10. We knew there would be a queue as it is such a popular exhibition so we walked to find the end of the queue and we walked and walked, finally finding a notice which read "2 hours wait from here" and then walked some more! We reckoned that we would have to wait at least 2 1/2 hours so gave up there and then, resolving to go back in a couple of weeks, a little earlier in the day. I cannot stand for very long at all, 2 1/2 hours is out of the question.

I took this photo as we drove back over the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

This next one I downloaded from the internet (see more here) and you can read about the Bridge here.

and a little later I took this of a plane on its way to Bristol Airport, so not a completely wasted journey.

Oh...... that is a pity! However, I don't think it is going to get any easier. People are coming to see Banksy from miles around, including other countries.
Is it possible to take a small fold up chair with you & maybe leave it at reception while you look around when you get in?

Love your picture of the bridge! The plane is typical of the many that come & go in Bristol Airport but look at the grey sky.........!

J Bar - it is a wonderful bridge.

Annie - Glad you like the bridge - it is a beauty. Thank you for your kind comments.

SquirrelQueen - Clifton Suspension Bridge is quite a landmark here. We are going to try again to get to the Exhibition in a couple of weeks.

Cynthia - We will give another go!

Maggie - we wondered if the fact that there had been a Harbour Festival in the city at the weekend had any bearing on the fact that there were so many people queuing so early. We will try again, and take a seat! The exhibition is only on until the end of August! Hope we get more blue skies by then!

Mary - Thank you - it was spur of the moment!

Ooh, that sky looks very threatening!
I remember crossing that bridge once in the early nineties. It's beautiful!

Thank you for stopping by. It is great to see people looking after the injured animals. Such dedication. We have places like this that always need money to keep them going.
The monochrome sky with plane looks good in its isolation, like suspended in time!

Oh, too bad about the long wait to get in to see Banky's art. I didn't realize just how popular he was in the UK. I love his website, with pictures of all of the sightings of his work. Very cool stuff.

I like your bridge picture, by the way. Happy weekend.

Great photos Anne, sorry about the exhibition but it will be worth the wait I'm sure. Always get a smile on my face when I see the Clifton Suspension Bridge, having driven under it for many years on the way to see my family up north, which I have probably mentioned before so sorry if I am repeating myself. Doing that more and more these days ;)
