Happy Birthday

It is my daughter's 39th birthday today. As soon as I got up my thoughts went back, as they always do on this day, to when she was born. I had not had a good night, simply because my 17 month old son was very poorly, finally settling in the early hours. I slept myself only to wake at around 5 am with the first niggle of pain. She was born at lunchtime - around 1.30 pm. I tease her that she must have heard the nurse ask me if I would like some pudding! - (I ask you!!) and decided then was the time to make her entrance.

She and I are very close but I will not be able to see her today. We spoke on the telephone last night and she was pleased to tell me that she has had quite a few parcels in the post already. She and her little 4 year old will be going to see friends and she is looking forward to her day. I will ring her this morning to greet her and again this evening when 4 year old is in bed and we will chat and she can tell me about her day.

Happy birthday my love.

The bond between mum and daughter is amazing isn't it.
I'm 2,000 miles away from my mum and we miss each other terribly but it makes every phone call and every visit precious.
Happy birthday to your daughter! I hope she has a lovely day.

My son is 39 also, but not his birthday today - his is on New Year's Eve - in fact it gives me a good topic to blog about!

Love your blog Anne! You are welcome to join my little private blog with my little gang of trusted friends and family but the trouble is, I don't know where to send the invite!

I'll add my "Happy Birthday!" too. :)

Pam - yes there is a strong bond between us and funnily enough the bond between my son and me is growing stronger even though he has been living in Australia for the past 4 years. We keep in close touch.

Lindsay - New Year's Eve - what a celebration you must have each year! Will look forward to your NY blog.

Gill - she has always had a sweet tooth and her 'snack trays' are legendary!

Sandi - hope to be seeing her in a couple of weeks. She lives in Stratford upon Avon, not too far but not close enough today unfortunately.

Sair - thanks for visiting - would love to call on you too. I'm a bit of a techno-phobe so not too sure how to get over that - will work on it.

To all of you ladies - thanks you so much for your birthday greetings to my darling girl.
