My Sewing Lessons

I am thoroughly enjoying my sewing lessons every other Tuesday, from 6.30 pm until about 9 pm. I am still very much a "greenhorn" though. I did warn K, my teacher and she is very patient with me and I am not the only one, after all they are lessons, and we are all there to learn.

Last week K asked me to put the zipper foot on the sewing machine so that I could stitch along some piping. I had already used it at home during the day so felt quite confident about it.

K came over to check. "Well, that's a first" she said, "you've put it on sideways"!

Well, it caused a laugh anyway and after all, don't you learn by your mistakes. I do hope so!

I think that you might have realised that you had not got the foot on right when you tried to use it!

I would not have a clue about putting the foot on the machine so you are well ahead of me there.

Did you not wonder why your zips went from left to right and not up and down? Lol. As cheshire wife says, you would have found out soon enough the moment you tried to sew with it!

Haha! Yes indeed, I hope so too!

I'm learning Italian, and I was writing to an Italian lady yesterday. I was trying to tell her I had to give up learning the violin because it hurt my neck. Unfortunately, I confused her quite a lot since I used the word for 'glue' instead of the word for 'neck', and instead of saying the violin had hurt my neck, I told her the glue had hurt me ... LOL!

Well, that's one mistake each that we'll learn from. Good luck with your sewing!

I tend to start something and then have it finished by my mother (who is soooooo much better). Although I can do the square quilty things and have made a few blankets.
