Our friends left after the annual firework display last evening. A good show, it lasted for about 20 minutes and heralded the carnival celebrations in the town.
Husband and I cleared up then sat down to watch the final episode of "Downton Abbey", a period drama we have been watching for the past 7 weeks. Following that was Piers Morgan's interview with Susan Boyle. H went on to bed but as tired as I was I stayed up to watch it as, along with thousands of her fans, I am so glad for her that she is living her dream. What a wonderful voice she has. It is always a pleasure to hear it.
I went to bed around mid-night and then I just couldn't sleep which is not like me at all. I got up again and finally, finally, went back to bed at 3 am and slept.

The fireworks display sounds like fun. Thanks for sharing the Susan Boyle video, she has the most amazing voice.
What a wonderful way to end my day, listening to the glorious Susan and she has really become a butterfly, so lovely to look at as well as to listen to. I love her rendition of Cry me a River!
Wish I could have enjoyed the fireworks, but Christmas will be upon us soon (or so say the merchants) and we'll have them then!
hugs

Sorry about your sleeping problems Anne, but many thanks for the lovely video of Susan Boyle, - I am so pleased she is having the opportunity of a career that shares her wonderful voice with so many. She really is a butterfly!
Lordy she looks good on that video! And sounds good of course. I'm so glad she's doing well. X
I love fireworks shows but for sure if it was happening here little Luna would be very scared about the sound!
Thanks for the lovely video, she is very talented!

Susan Boyle is developing all the time - well done to her.
I hope you sleep better tonight.
I saw that interview with Piers Moran too. It was refreshing to see that athough fame has changed her a little (hair, clothes etc) she is still the same inside - childishly innocent, matter-of-fact and obviously careful with her money (that house she has bought looked so modest). It is so good to see someone so "ordinary" doing well.
I thoroughly enjoyed Downton Abbey too, tho it obviously had a lot of "Upstairs, Downstairs" about it too. I should think it'll go down well in the USA.
Sorry you could not sleep. Maybe too much late-night TV is the culprit! ;)
I must say I too am a fan of Susan Boyle's singing. Looking forward to getting her new cd.
