Blog, Twitter or Facebook

I have been blogging for over 2 years now. I managed to get to grips with it fairly easily and time gave me more confidence. Much more recently my son in Australia asked me if I would consider joining Facebook as it would be a good way of keeping in touch apart from our weekly telephone calls. I did join but I don't really understand it and don't find it easy at all. Now I am wondering if I should try Twitter.

Any thoughts anyone?

Facebook is one of those things that the more you use it the easier it gets. It is great for sharing photos. I have a regular FB account and a FB fan page. Twitter is fairly simple and great for short, quick messages. I have been on FB and Twitter for about two years.

I joined Facebook two or three years ago and didn't do anything with it for a year. Once I started using it I found it simple and quick and a good way to keep up with family. Photos and videos can be shared and messages can be private or public - your choice.I've also joined Twitter but haven't really investigated it yet.
When our son was in NYC we used Skype regularly too.

hehhe good question dear Anne,
My mommy Léia did a "facebook"for me but I agree with you, it's difficult sometimes understand, but it's good to see new pictures from my friends and make comments.
I don't have twitter :(
Mommy says it's too much!I need her help to blog and see my facebook, and she also has to prepare some post to her own blog "Bonjour Luxembourg", so that ...
And I need to confess she has not being a good assistant at all, because she is doing two different French classes, all morning and evenings studying hard to learn French!Poor mommy, she is a little bit crazy! LOL
We can be friends at facebook as well, please look for Luna Snowshoe!

I've been blogging for about five years now and I love it. I am also on facebook, but the only thing I really do there is play bingo. And I have yet to see the benefits of twitter.

You can always try facebook for a while, it's like the blogging thing: you need to use it to get the hang of it.

Now, I'm off to play bingo!

My daughter and I stay in touch with facebook and skpe. Skype for free phone calls and visual contact. Facebook more for fly-on- the-wall watching photos and comments. I went to Twitter and got hopelessly confused so have stayed away!

I don't use Facebook or Twitter. Personally I think my blog is enough.

My son asked me the same, he lives in Amsterdam. I subscribed to see his pictures, but suddenly I had hundreds of "friends" I had never seen or heard of in my whole life who all wanted to be friend with me ! I only accepted 5 of them because I know them. It's not difficult to become a member but be careful. I never answer on a request for being my "friend" ! I don't like Twitter short messages I can write per email ! and then I have enough to do with my blogs.

Thanks to everyone for your opinions on this subject. I think I'll just stick to blogging and have a quick look at FB from time to time to catch up with the latest photos of the family. A x

I'm with you on this.
I joined facebook simply to see what it was but all it seems to be is inane comments from all and sundry plus a popularity contest - " who hqas the most friends". As for twitter - I've looked but will leave it to the birds.

I think it it is a sound idea to use Twitter and Facebook as it widens your audience.
PS:I loooooove your picture! It sure got me hungry.

I use fecebook - but do prefer blogging. The games on FB can be distracting!

Twitter - I give up! lol!

Facebook is nice because it's personal and I can see what my family and friends are up to in other countries - probably why your son asked you to join. You can instant message with him on FB and also immediately swap pictures and videos. I REALLY wish my mum would join FB for that reason.X
oh, and please be my FB friend :-)
